Year 16 marked a significant transition for the FIRST community in Indiana as it embraced the district model. WBI embraced this change by participating in their inaugural district event held in Indianapolis, where their embodiment of FIRST core values led them to be honored with the prestigious Indiana District Engineering Inspiration Award, a testament to their commitment to fostering inspiration and innovation within their community. On the field, their prowess was equally evident as they achieved a commendable 9th ranking and progressed into the semifinals.

Their journey continued at the Purdue District Event, where they maintained their competitive edge, finishing as the 9th ranked team and advancing into the quarterfinals. This success secured their qualification for the inaugural Indiana FIRST District Championship. In recognition of their comprehensive efforts, both on and off the field, the team was bestowed with the Judge’s Award, highlighting their multifaceted contributions to the FIRST community.

During the off-season, WBI extended their dedication to excellence by participating in the Central Ohio Robotics Invitational in Columbus, Ohio, underscoring their unwavering commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration within the broader robotics community.
